What Happens During a Root Canal?
You will receive local anesthesia to numb the tooth and the surrounding area. Once it is isolated with a dental dam, one of our dentists will access the inner portions of the tooth structure by creating a small opening in the crown. After cleaning the interior and removing the diseased portions, we will extract the infected pulp, sanitize the space, and fill it with gutta-percha. After sealing the tooth, we will have a custom-made dental crown fabricated to fit over it for added protection.
